Prema Sastri studied in India and Chatham College, Pittsburg. Her short stories have appeared in leading magazines in India and Abroad. They have won awards, gone into several reprints an been translated in various Indian languages. Her short stories have appeared in anthologies, alongside works by Woddy allen, Doris Leasing and Issac Singer. She is also a novelist and playwright. Her novels have been serialized in Indian magazines. Her play Sivaji received a national award from the Shivaji all India Tri Centenarary Committee. Gandhi was staged by the Pan Asian repertory Company in New York before an invited audience.
Over the border was performed for an Asian Theatre Festival at the Waterman theatre, London, where it won two awards.
Her radio serials, Changes And Choices have been broadcast by the Far Eastern Broadcasting Association.
Preema Sastri is a consultant in communication skills and has her own organization Keynote. She is a great niece of Pandit Natesa Sastri, the well know Tamil writer.
She is also know by the pen name Lata Narain.
